Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily even in tight spaces.
If you want a smooth ride on your baby, select models with 360deg front wheels that can swivel. They are, however, susceptible, to punctures. Be prepared with an emergency repair kit.
Sturdy frame
New figures show that three-wheeled buggies, that emblem of the noughties, which were more expensive than common sense, are in steep decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easy to drive and look stylish.
The basic rule is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it'll be for your buggy to deal with rough ground and bumpy pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear allow you to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or in difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on the newborn baby as well as a child who was 3 years old and found it extremely sturdy. It was able to withstand grass, cobbles and rough pavements as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath wrote "it feels sturdy to push and extremely solid when going over difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable, so require periodic pumping) offer built-in suspension which was extremely comfortable for my children.
Another thing to think about is the seat size and shape. It should be large enough to accommodate your child's comfort. You will also need it to recline to allow them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies have a lie-flat option that allows the child to face you, whereas others only allow a face-to-parent one.
The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road or walking in muddy areas. This buggy can be used as a one-person unit from birth and then adapts to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for babies and toddlers until age 4 and includes a bumper bar, raincover, an improved 5-point harness and a spacious cushioned seat. The storage options are excellent as well, with a large basket, zip pockets on the hood and an easy-to-access pouch on the back of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels mean that your buggy will have more stability on rough terrain - ideal for buggies designed for off-road use. They also allow you to maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. A lot of three-wheeled buggies come with swivel front wheels to aid you in maneuvering around corners with ease, whereas others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability at which they can be driven. This is particularly useful when you crash into trees or a kerb. The front wheel will lift slightly to keep it from hitting it.
Many 3 wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres, which means they are able to handle many different terrains and are much more flexible than four wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. However, they're susceptible to punctures, so you'll need to have an repair kit, spare inner tube and pump in your bag.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo Lux are among our top 3-wheelers. These buggies, as per MFM's Kath, have larger wheels that she claims "perform well on gravel roads, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to go up or down kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that, in her words "smoothes out bumps extremely effectively".
Buggies with larger wheels may be quite wide, and can be difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is an issue when you're using it for a jogger or to be able to get through doorways that are narrow when you're out and about. Fortunately, many models come with compact folding options that let you take off the front wheels to make compact storage.
Easy to manoeuvre
A three-wheel buggy can be easier to maneuver with a child. They are designed so that the front wheels turn on a dime, and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for challenging terrain such as cobblestones, parks, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
3 wheeled pushchair tried an all-wheeler with her toddler. she said: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive on rough terrain. The front swivel wheel was especially useful." I was also amazed by the way it handled kerbs with the hand-operated break. It was very stable for descending or on a rough terrain."
The only drawback of this incredible maneuverability is that the three wheel buggy's larger wheels sometimes mean that it will struggle in tight spaces, something to be aware of especially if you live in a city region. If this is an issue then a 4-wheeler might be a better option for you.
Bumper bar

Bumper bars can shield your child from bumps and scrapes when out and about. They are easy and quick to put up and help your child feel secure and safe while out on the town or tackling tough terrain.
Created to match the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar features a soft and cushioned surface that offers an ideal place for your child to hold on to during walks. The sturdy construction and durable design will ensure that your child will take a stroll around town without having to worry about falling out of the buggy or leaning too far ahead.
The sling seat is comfortably inside the frame instead of sitting on top like modular seats, delivering the lowest centre of gravity at the appropriate height for your infant and also providing an excellent weight distribution to facilitate kerb pop (it takes less effort to push a buggy up and over the curb than you think). MFM reviewer Kath discovered that it was able to cope well with grass and cobbles and is a great option for jogging due to its lockable swivel front wheel and air-filled tyres.
This bumper bar is sure to make heads turn wherever it's used. It has a classy and stylish appearance. It's available in a variety of finishes and colors to match your personal style. It has a simple, quick-release mechanism that makes it simple to remove and install the bumper bar as necessary. Furthermore the bumper bar is easy to clean and is constructed of durable materials that are easy to clean. This makes it a great option for families seeking a stylish and safe stroller accessory.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy is the best off-road vehicle to maneuver and performance. With perfect design and weight distribution, this type of buggy can be able to turn at a moment's notice and be a breeze to steer using just one hand. Mountain Buggies are tested to the same rigorous global stability standards and tests as 4-wheel buggies.
With a fabric sling seat positioned snugly inside the frame rather than on top of it like modular seats, the Sport's clever design enables it to have a lower centre of gravity at the right height for your child - giving you a more comfortable push, a lighter curb pop (you don't require any effort or weight to pop the hood of your buggy up and over a curb) and a better balance and stability. With 16" rear wheels, the lockable front wheel, and tyres that are air-filled which allow for a more smooth, comfortable jog.
The only stroller in our collection that has an adult-facing seat that can also accommodate the car seat or carrycot, you are able to future-proof your family to enjoy every adventure - beginning from the first day and for years to come!
But that's not the only reason you should love this buggy - our MFM reviewer Kath was amazed by how big it is, too. There's a nimble large, spacious basket that's quite spacious for a buggy that's this big. Plus, there's also a handy pouch on the back of the unit, as well as two smaller mesh pockets under the hood where you can keep your keys and phone.
